When you enter the city, you can see the original architecture of the building, reminiscent of a peak, a candle, and a wave at the same time - a concert hall in Tenerife. The Tenerife Auditorium impresses not only for its architectural forms, but also for its technical capacity, so if you can't make it to the performance, you can take a tour or just take a walk and take beautiful photos.

In the center of Santa Cruz de Tenerife stands the wonder of avant-garde architecture, a magnificent masterpiece by Santiago Calatrava, a symbol of the city and of all the Canary Islands - the Auditorium of Tenerife. The concert hall of the Tenerife Auditorium is one of the brightest and most significant objects of art in Spain.

This innovative building impresses not only for its architectural forms, but also for its technical capacity. Few opera houses in the world can offer such impressive acoustics, and the organ sound of the Tenerife Auditorium is second to none.

The huge wing of the Auditorium Dome can be seen immediately at the entrance to Santa Cruz. The elegant curves of the ceiling of the concert hall play with the reflections of the white mosaics in the rays of the sun, which shine against the background of the blue ocean surface and the landscapes of a flourishing island. The wavy arches glow in bright neon light under the tropical night sky. On normal days, the dome lights up white; on festive and solemn dates, its color changes.

The idea of building a large concert hall in Tenerife appeared in 1970. The authorities of the capital long chose a place for the object, looking for an architect worthy of this work. Finally, in 1978, they announced a project contest. Only in 1990 was the Santiago Calatrava project accepted. Construction began in 1997. In the fall of 2003, the Avenida de la Constitución Auditorium was opened.

The Tenerife Auditorium has become a vivid modern example of expressionist architecture. The area of the Concert Hall was about 6.5 m². The total length of the roof structure, located at 50 meters high, reached one hundred meters; its weight was 350 tons. The exterior curved lines of the building were repeated in the interior rooms of the Auditorium and in the music rooms.

On the exterior side of the building there are two terraces facing the ocean - Atlantic and Urban. On both sides of the Concert Hall there are two entrances to the hall. The Auditorium building consists of a large hall, two galleries, Chamber and Symphony rooms. The Symphony Hall, which is called the "heart" of the building, has a capacity for 1616 spectators, the Chamber Hall is designed for 422 people.

The organ of the Auditorium was designed by the Catalan teacher Albert Blancafort. According to international experts, this instrument is unique, both in structure and sound. The organ pipes (3835 in total) are fixed under the ceiling along both walls, on both sides of the flower bed. This number and arrangement of the tubes creates a powerful surround sound effect.

Most of the time the Auditorium hosts concerts by the Santa Cruz Symphony Orchestra. The Concert Hall poster features classic and rock operas, musicals, jazz and dance programs, master classes with the participation of world stars, opera festivals. Since 2007 it has been a tradition to hold an award ceremony for the Cadena Dial radio station. Currently, in the rooms of the Tenerife Auditorium numerous official events and conferences are held.
