Square Plaza de la Candelaria

Plaza de la Candelaria is the central square of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the capital of the island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands, and serves as one of the most popular places for meetings and walks.

It dates back to 1701 and its official name is Plaza de la Constitución. To the west, it is adjacent to the Plaza de la España, the largest plaza in Santa Cruz, considered the heart of the capital.

The Plaza de Candelaria is inextricably linked to the name of Santa Candelaria, the patron saint of the Canary Islands, and it is after it that it received its name.

Today, the Plaza de la Candelaria usually hosts various street festivals, exhibitions and concerts. And in the cozy summer cafes of this wonderful place, with its fountain and palm grove, locals and visitors alike love to relax.
