Es Vedrà is recognized as one of the most mysterious and mystical islands in the Balearic archipelago, and one cannot help but agree with this. The uninhabited island looks like a dragon, and its long, craggy tail is nothing more than frozen lava. The island is not only enveloped in a mysterious transparent and silver haze (which distinguishes it from other islands), but above all it is enveloped in incredible legends and myths.

Legends of the island

So, according to one of the legends, on this island the commander of Carthage, Hannibal, was supposedly born, although in fact, according to sources, Hannibal was born in Carthage. But most likely, he visited the Balearic Islands, because the Carthaginians in 200 B.C. they owned these islands, so Hannibal probably went to the island of Es Vedra.

Another legend says that the island is the tip of the sunken Atlantis. There is also a beautiful legend which says that on this island of Odysseus "the foam of the miraculous mermaids" - mythical creatures of the female sex (mermaids) were heard, who attracted their singing sailors, and then killed them.
Es Vedra Island is known to rank third on the planet for the level of geomagnetic force after the North Pole and the Bermuda Triangle. The reason for such high geomagnetic radiation is unclear, because there is no metal accumulation on the island and it was formed from volcanic rocks.

The power of the energetic influence of the island of Es Vedra on man is comparable to that of Stonehenge, Curucsheetra, Easter Island and Alder Island. Connoisseurs of mysticism and anomalous magnetic phenomena and artists who came to the island for inspiration say that here they feel a strong surge of energy.
The island is surrounded by a halo of mystical stories, it is attributed to a lot of supernatural inexplicable phenomena.

Monks and fishermen on the island said they encountered supernatural creatures surrounded by bright lights or observed huge bright objects coming from the sea near the island. The locals have been passing from generation to generation heartbreaking stories about the priest who hung a virgin Mary on the cliff of the island. There are also many stories about hippies who went to the island in the last century and disappeared hopelessly. Contemporaries say that on the island, the compass handle constantly shows different directions, and electrical appliances fail. And all these phenomena are still inexplicable.

The place is so mysterious and mystical and so unique that the Spanish government has banned its visit. Today, Es Vedra is a reserve island, it is only allowed to navigate or deviate by boat, but it is not possible to disembark on the island. Es Vedra is a completely wild and uninhabited island, only birds live, but there are not many.
To get to know this legendary island, you can take a boat trip from Ibiza or San Antonio: the trip will take a few minutes, but disembarking, as already mentioned, is prohibited. Still worth taking a look at the island. Tourists can enjoy an unforgettable show. Some perceive this landscape as calming, and others perceive it as sinister, but it does not let anyone see Es Vedra, as an indifferent island.
