Like a geyser that explodes in the sky, this huge skyscraper is decorated with special panels that shine in all the colors of the rainbow. It is especially beautiful in night lighting. The Glòries Tower has become one of Barcelona's attractions since 2003. From an engineering point of view, this 34-story building is an "intelligent" house with automatic regulation of temperature and energy consumption.

The Torre Glòries rises above Plaça de les Glòries Catalanes and the business districts of Barcelona. The Catalans call it the "Barcelona Cucumber". The appearance of a huge tower in the shape of a giant cigar is totally puzzling. The monumental building shines with the lead and the brilliance of the rainbow in the rays of the sun, glowing with a colorful glow in the night sky of Barcelona.

The authors of this project were Jean Nouvel, an architect from France, and the Spanish firm b720 Arquitectos. The client was the holding company of the Agbar Group (hence the previous name of the building). The shape of the skyscraper was inspired by the main symbols of Catalan culture - the bell towers of the Sagrada Familia and the strange contours of Mount Monserrat. Nouvelle did not want its structure to resemble the skyscrapers of North America. And since the client was a water company, the idea was for the building to emerge from the ground like a geyser rising from the depths of the sea.
